Keeping with the "Then and Now" theme of Jane Miner's excellent reunion booklet, these pages will feature images of our high school days during the late '50s and early '60s, or even earlier. Send your photos in .jpg format to Kathy Gamill Nichols, 413 W. Adams, Pittsburg, KS 66762.  Or e-mail it to her by clicking here.

WHS north front door--highly photo-shopped to clarify a dark, blurry image.

WHS south rear entrance; old junior high building on right.

The old junior high building, west entrance--Remember how the second
floor would tremble as we walked to our next class?

There may have been days some of us would have liked to throw rocks at the
high school, but this deserted building just looks sad.

Leave it to Tom LaFramboise.  When he sets out to demolish
something, he sure can make a mess, can't he!

The demolition of the high school started in January 1979 and was finished
December 5th, 1979.   (Photo by Leon Nielsen)
